What's Up???

Sun, Oct. 25, 1998 - The Rogue's Gallery is finally finished--228 classmates' pictures proved to be too large for one file so we had to break it down into two sections, A-K and L-Z, with a contents page that features the Class Advisors and pictures only (no names--you know who they are) of the Class Officers during the Sophomore and Junior years. Thinking about Kenny Nabarrete's suggestion (echoed by Robin Liu) about a "then and now" comparison of photos. Let's see what you all think of these to start:

So, I guess Kenny and Robin are among the first to volunteer to send in current pictures for the next comparison set. We'll be waiting!

Thu, Oct. 22, 1998 - In response to a suggestion by Joe Blanco, we registered "SLH71.org" as the class's URL. Having our own web address makes it easier to find the homepage. Now, all you have to remember is "http://www.SLH71.org" to get to the homepage, so pass the information on to the rest of our classmates. Thanks for the suggestion, Joe!

Tue, Oct. 20, 1998 - Looks like the website is accomplishing what was intended--another classmate we had lost track of found the homepage and re-established contact. David L. Beinke reports that he's been in Texas during the 25+ years since we graduated.

Sun, Oct. 18, 1998 - Just returned from a 10-day visit back home. One of the reasons for the visit was to pick up my yearbooks so I could finish scanning in photographs for the Rogue's Gallery. While there, Joe Blanco, Joe Hu, Bobby Hall, and I got together with Alan Young at his place in Kapalama to discuss how to best use the website and also to stuff our faces with lau-lau, lomi salmon, tako poki, poki aku, poi, kulolo, and haupia. What was it that we got together to discuss again? Oh yeah, the most significant item was the decision to register an URL to make it easier to find the homepage. Also got a chance to visit with Robin Liu and Kenny Ordenstein and to talk to Brian Y.C. Lau on Joe Hu's cellular telephone. Sorry to learn from Robin that his father passed away the previous Sunday, Oct. 11.

Tue, Oct. 6, 1998 - Brian Y.C. Lau checked in and posted his three e-mail addresses in the Guestbook. In subsequent e-mail, Brian reported that he's still with First Hawaiian Leasing and also is a full Colonel (O-6) in the Army Reserve.
